MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge and CBS Take Flight Challenge

I took a piece of purple pearlescent card and diecut it with the MFT triangle screen coverup. This piece was then mounted onto a slightly larger piece of the same card.

Using the coverup die I cut triangles out of coordinating papers & card, then inserted them randomly into the main die cut.

I stamped and embossed my sentiment onto light teal card, and mounted this onto glitter card followed by purple card. This piece was mounted diagonally as per the sketch.

The butterflies were diecut from the pearlescent card. I used the butterfly die from Clearly Besotted Stamps and embellished them with pale blue gems.

The panel was then mounted onto a top folding white card measuring 4.5"x5.5".

Take Flight-Clearly Besotted Stamps Challenge

Today's card is one I've made for the Take Flight challenge over at Clearly Besotted Stamps.

I started with a piece of white card 4.25"x 11" and scored at 5.5" to make a top folding card. The top piece measures 4" x 5.25". I pierced a border round this, then used the small & large butterfly dies from Clearly Besotted Stamps to make the apertures. Pieces of glitter card was 3d mounted behind the butterflies. I decided this was too stark so I added the white diecuts on top.I embellished these with silver pearls. To finish I wrapped a piece of silver cord on the left and added a punched tag to it.The butterfly & sentiment are from Clearly Besotted Stamps.

MFT sketch Wednesday card

So I've finally bitten the bullet and decided to start my own blog. The main reason being so that I can enter my cards into design challenges and competitions!

My first offering is for the MFT (My Favourite Things) sketch Wednesday challenge. I started of with a piece of white card stock from my stash that was 4.25"x 11" inch, scored at 5.5" to make a top folding card. I matted a piece of black card (4.25" x 5.5") onto the card blank. Next I used the chevron stencil as a template to cut the design out of pieces of patterned paper and coloured card stock. I layered these onto black card to give a solid base. When finished I highlighted the edges with co-ordinating glitter. Then I added a black die cut circle followed by the vellum banner with my stamped sentiment. The finishing touch is a scotty dog punched out of the same papers and finished with a pink gem.
